Saturday evening we went to the Allen Wranglers arena football game. I wasn't sure what to expect at first, but it turned out to be a lot of fun.

We came home to this lovely spot on our ceiling today. Apparently a pipe from our water heater broke and was dripping water in our attic. We were able to put a bucket under the leak to keep it from getting worse, but it still got lots of water on the ceiling and between the walls. Luckily our friend Jordan runs a restoration company called PuroClean and they were able to help us minimize the water damage. Hooray for home-ownership!

Saturday Trey's parents took us to Enoch's Stomp. East Texas is so gorgeous this time of year, wildflowers everywhere!

Finally made it to Longview for the weekend, and it's a perfect night for a bonfire.

There were some terrible tornadoes that hit DFW this Tuesday. Luckily we didn't experience any of the terror first hand, but a lot of areas near us got hit pretty bad.

Tonight had a cooking date night and made honey walnut shrimp. It was pretty amazing.

Today marks 1.5 years of being married! We didn't have our wedding cake on our first anniversary (it was still in my parent's freezer) but we finally have it, so a year and a half seems like an appropriate time to break it out. I didn't exactly trust it, so we just poked it and took pictures.

This has been such a beautiful weekend. Today we went out for sushi and to a show at Good Records and this evening some of our good friends came to visit. A lovely way to spend a Saturday.

It was a gorgeous day today, so we went to the zoo. The animals were all out and about, and I got to pet a giraffe! Pretty awesome. I've always wondered what their horns felt like.

Today we went to Doc's Records' grand opening and saw Spooky Folk play, along with some other local bands. I have no idea what my camera did to this picture, but it looks kind of cool.

Happy Valentine's Day!!! Although we celebrated this past weekend we still wanted to do something special tonight. We bought different cheeses to snack on and made a delicious creamy chick'n pasta for dinner and had apple crumble for dessert.

After we checked out of our hotel this morning we met our friend Aaron for brunch. I had this amazing blueberry French toast and a cherry mimosa. Brunch is always a good idea.

Today we celebrated our 2nd Valentine's day as a married couple! For most of the day we wandered Austin, going to different shops and the state Capitol. 

Then for dinner we got all dressed up and went to dinner at the Driskill. We had a fancy 5 course meal, like nothing we've had before. It was pretty amazing.

After our 2 hour long dinner we went to the Alamo Drafthouse to see Master Pancake riff The Notebook. Quite fitting for Valentine's entertainment. I think this might be the best Valentine's Day yet.

Tonight kicks off our Valentine's day weekend! After work we hit the road, stopped in Waco for dinner, and drove on to Austin. Trey booked us a nice hotel with a beautiful view of downtown. Super excited for tomorrow!

There is a nice park really close to our new house, and since the weather has been amazing we've been going for walks almost every day.

This weekend we went to visit Cayla and Kaleo in Denton. I miss our board game friends. Always fun.

We bought an awesome bedroom set last week and they finally delivered it! For the past year+ we've been sleeping on a mattress on then floor, so this is pretty exciting. I feel so grown up.

It's my birthday! On our way home from work we stopped at a little candy shop in downtown Carrollton and bought funny candies and sodas I've never heard of. Then we went out to Maggiano's for dinner and Trey surprised me with Tiffany earrings and a necklace!

It was tricky moving to a new home and coordinating two Christmases in one week, but we made the most of it and had a lot of fun.

We made it to Longview just in time for the Conner Christmas Eve party. Debbie even made vegetarian chili for us!

The Bevils came to help us move the other day and stayed to celebrate Christmas in our new home.
