A week ago Isis swallowed a piece of her bone that was too large to digest, and she had to have surgery last Monday to have it removed from her small intestine. Somehow the muscle underneath got infected and she had to have surgery again on Thursday to clean it up. Thursday evening she wasn't healing right and we had to take her to an emergency clinic late at night. Needless to say, this has been one stressful week!

The vet gave her a cone of shame, but she can't figure out how to act while wearing the cone, so we don't leave it on for long. An assortment of small shirts keep her from messing with her stitches. Luckily her grandparents love her enough to watch her during the day, so she doesn't have to it wear them for long.

This has been a traumatizing week for all involved, and we're glad it's over. Isis is healing well, and we can't be more grateful for the support we've been given from all our friends and family.

PSA: Never give your dog an animals bone! It's cheaper and healthier to buy 100 chew toys that get destroyed in one day than risk the trauma involved in a complication like this!
